Trump Organization Attempted to Bring In Nearly 200 Employees on Visas in 2025

The former president’s corporate entity accelerated its hiring of foreign workers on short-term work permits this year, even as his administration was placing obstacles for other businesses wanting to do the identical, a report published Thursday stated.

Based on information from the federal labor department, the business sought to bring in at least nearly 200 foreign workers in 2025 for short-term roles at the US president’s Florida property, two golf clubs and his winery in Virginia.

The number of requests for temporary work visas covering workers including waitstaff, clerks, cleaning staff, kitchen staff and agricultural laborers was the highest ever submitted by the company, and up from over 120 in 2021, when his presidency ended.

It was also the fifth instance in 10 years that the former president had attempted to hire over a hundred foreign employees for temporary positions at Mar-a-Lago, based on labor statistics.

The disclosure comes amid a tightening on legal immigration by his government that has involved the implementation of a $100,000 fee on H1-B visas; extra scrutiny of the activities of the millions of people who possess US visas; and tighter regulations for international scholars and journalists.

Overall, the business sought to employ over 560 overseas workers over the five years Trump has been in the presidency, from 2017 to 2021 and during 2025.

Notably, Trump was questioned by some in the Republican party this period for remarks defending the need for foreign workers when a business was unable to find people with “specific talents” to occupy certain positions.

“You cannot just say a nation is coming in, going to invest $10bn to construct a facility, and going to recruit individuals off an unemployment line who have been unemployed in years, and they’re going to start producing their missiles. It isn’t feasible that well,” he told a host after she suggested that foreign workers lower the pay of US workers.

The White House refused a request for response, and the Trump Organization did not provide an answer to an inquiry.
