The former president's Family Member Gets Expert Tips from Golf Legend Woods Prior to LPGA Debut
This young athlete maintains considerable online audience
Kai Trump will have plenty of high-profile cheerleaders when she begins her professional golf debut this Thursday.
The 18-year-old athlete, who is connected to a former US president, obtained a tournament invitation to participate at the Annika tournament in Florida.
Her grandfather, an avid golfer, operates several international courses and regularly competes against Kai.
"He's fairly competent. I can't say much but we have some close matches," she stated.
She mentioned that Trump, who cannot attend, counseled her: "Just don't get nervous."
"He basically told me to compete and enjoy myself," she explained.
"From my perspective, he's simply an ordinary family member. He can't make it this weekend. He's occupied with presidential duties, so he's somewhat preoccupied."
As an amateur, Kai has participated in a mere three competitions in 2024 and holds ranking 461 in AJGA rankings.
However she's able to seek guidance from golf legend, romantically involved with Kai's mother.
"He represents the best player globally," Kai stated.
"Additionally, he's an even better individual. He suggested me to go out there, have fun, following the flow."
Kai will face some of top competitors in professional golf at the competition, such as world number two the champion, British Charley Hull, Lexi Thompson and 2023 champion Lilia Vu.
The LPGA stated that her participation exposes golf to different demographics, specifically among youth audiences.
The young star maintains a massive following and has started her own clothing and lifestyle company.
The competition starts at late afternoon GMT.
