Kansas City Chiefs State They Are Aware of Domestic Violence Allegations Involving Player Rashee Rice
The NFL franchise issued a statement Wednesday night confirming they have knowledge of domestic violence allegations circulated in social media posts by a ex-partner of wide receiver the athlete and were in contact with the league office.
The team did not mention Rice specifically in their statement and stated they would have “no further comment at this time”.
Claims Posted on Instagram
Dacoda Nichole Jones, who also did not mention the athlete directly, shared a series of photos on Instagram that appeared to show signs of physical abuse. She stated the person involved was the father of her children, and reports indicate she has kids with Rice, whom the Chiefs drafted in the second round.

No police reports were available in Overland Park, Kansas where the incident is said to have occurred.
Rice's Prior Legal Issues
The receiver missed the initial part of this season following an NFL suspension for his role in instigating a crash on a Texas roadway that left several individuals hurt. He was sentenced 30 days in jail and five years’ probation after pleading guilty to serious offenses.
On the field, he concluded the year with 53 catches for 571 receiving yards and five touchdowns as the Kansas City finished with a losing record and missed the playoffs for the first time in a decade.
