Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson will appear in the latest Hunger Games series movie, Sunrise on the Reaping.
News has broken that fan-favorite actors Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson are set to appear once again in the next chapter of the Hunger Games film series, titled The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping. Production is currently underway.
An Important Reunion for Fans
Lawrence and Hutcherson are returning as Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark, the characters they made famous. It is believed their roles will likely occur in a future-set scene, as the main film series concluded with their characters married and with children.
This signifies the sixth cinematic outing in the highly successful Hunger Games franchise.
The Source Material
Sunrise on the Reaping is based upon a newly published work by series creator Suzanne Collins. It acts as the second film set before the original story after 2023's The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes. Once again is Francis Lawrence, who was behind nearly all the previous films in the series.
The Storyline and Fresh Faces
The film's events are set roughly two decades prior to the first Hunger Games, spotlighting a young Haymitch Abernathy. Haymitch, later known as Katniss's mentor, is shown as a tribute in the notorious 50th Hunger Games.
The film welcomes several accomplished actors in key parts:
- Jesse Plemons steps into the role of Plutarch Heavensbee.
- Ralph Fiennes takes on the part of a younger version of the calculating President Snow.
