Homages Pour In for the Reiners as Autopsy Reports Are Sealed.

More than two weeks subsequent to the heartbreaking passing of renowned film director Rob Reiner and his wife, photographer Michele Reiner, friends and colleagues persist in remembering the couple.

A Heartfelt Farewell: Cary Elwes Recalls His Director

Writing on social media, actor Cary Elwes, who starred in Reiner's beloved 1987 film *The Princess Bride*, mentioned he just recently felt ready to post publicly about his deep grief.

"Sufficient time has passed that I can finally express my sorrow into words," shared Elwes, adding that his first meeting with Reiner made him fall in love. "Once we started passing more hours together I knew this was someone I wanted in my life."

The actor posted never-before-seen clips from the film, adding that he could not remember "one day without mirth".

"This story is about devotion, fidelity and selflessness. Values that Rob valued immensely. This is one of the many reasons he was the best person to direct it," Elwes wrote.

He also paid tribute Michele Reiner, stating: "To say that they were a great team would be an oversimplification. My heart still pangs every time I remember you." He finished with a phrase from *The Princess Bride*: "Sure, death cannot stop true love but living is anguish without you."

Martin Scorsese Remembers a Colleague and Comrade

In a different essay, revered director Martin Scorsese also honored Reiner, whom he initially encountered in the 1970s.

"Right away, I loved being with Rob. We had a natural affinity for each other. He was uproarious and sometimes acutely humorous, but he was never the kind of guy who would dominate the room," Scorsese shared.

Scorsese pointed out Reiner's acting part in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, portraying the father of the main character.

"He was skilled at improv with the best. He was a master at comedy, he worked seamlessly with the cast, and he grasped the emotional dilemma of his character," Scorsese wrote.

Legal Developments: Autopsy Reports Restricted

This week, a Los Angeles judge decided to prevent the release of the Reiners' autopsy reports, after an appeal from the Los Angeles Police Department.

A court order issued a security hold on the files to limit the public release of "all case details, notes, reports or photos" pertaining to the active case.

The Medical Examiner's office had previously confirmed their deaths were the consequence of homicide, with a official listing listing the cause as "wounds from an edged weapon".

Aftermath and Reactions

After the killings, public personalities expressed different reactions.

Ex-President Donald Trump posted on the matter, providing provocative remarks that were broadly criticized by numerous commentators.

Podcaster Joe Rogan added his voice to the critics recently. Conversing on his podcast, Rogan described the statements as "disturbing" and suggested they demonstrated a troubling lack of empathy.

Rogan finished by proposing that an aide should have acted when the decision to speak on the passing was made.
