Colts Face Atlanta Falcons in Berlin – Week 10 NFL Action
Guten tag, football enthusiasts. How are you? Alles klar I trust on this excellent early start to the tenth week coming directly from Deutschland. Berlin's Olympic Stadium to be exact where at 9:30 AM EST and 2:30 PM GMT the powerful Colts (seven wins and two losses) face off against the Atlanta Falcons (three wins and five losses). This marks the fifth matchup played on soil in Germany and the initial in the capital city.
Pre-match Key Moments
As sparkly jackets go that is an real standout from the Olympic figure skater on the coin toss. A slight fluff from Sky Sports there as we hear “who won the toss?” from the presenter with an accidentally live microphone.
So, the coin toss went to Indianapolis and have elected to receive. Daniel Jones and company will be taking the field soon. Can the quarterback recover after a difficult performance in Pittsburgh?
Not to be outdone the vocalist performing the Star Spangled Banner has some of the largest shoulder pads you are ever likely to see. The fashion picks are impressive today. The game is about to start after a choir performance for the German anthem. Classy.
First Quarter Action
Colts 0-0 Falcons 13:30, 1st quarter
Here we go! And we have an exciting start after the Colts running back receives a short throw, gains 15 yards on the outside to the right then loses the ball … only for his center to save his bacon with the recovery. Indianapolis quickly moves into Atlanta's half.
Colts 0-0 Falcons 10:51, 1st quarter
And the drama keeps coming as the Colts go for it on 4th down. The risk doesn't work out as the wide receiver cannot reel in a quick pass from the quarterback. Prior to the failed attempt the Falcons defender put a huge hit on the Colts' tight end. Atlanta's defense started strong as they try and snap their string of three losses. Following that, Sauce Gardner makes his first appearance!
Score Recap
First score: Colts lead 6-0 at 8:36
Did Kyle Pitts just drop a touchdown? The Falcons player makes a crucial error, he was wide open but the ball just slips through his grasp. That moment reflects the first round pick’s career to date.
So far, so disappointing but it only gets worse for the Atlanta as they turn over possession to the Colts on the 23-yard mark. Michael Penix Jr is sacked and fumbles the football.
A nifty 22-yard run from the Colts receiver sets the running back up to easily run for a touchdown on the following play. Kicker Michael Badgley skews the extra point wide. Mistake.
TOUCHDOWN! Colts 6-7 Falcons 6:07, 1st quarter
The quarterback recovers from the turnover by marching his Falcons down the field for a touchdown. The wide receiver makes some substantial catches to put them in the red zone then the seas part for the running back to saunter on to the goal line through the heart of the field for a 13-yard gain. He completes the drive for a one-yard touchdown of his own. The Falcons take the lead.
